Interiors are an interesting thing.

You may think you need a whole complete change,
but maybe you just need to re-arrange your furniture.

I am very good at spatial design.
Whether it's just a re-arrange or full on construction,
I can make your space work for you instead of against you.

This is Danny Bonaduce's new condo. He bought it brand new. He was so excited that no one had lived there before! It was all white and boring and Danny is definitely NOT boring!

Let's start with his new roof top deck, then we'll move into the Living Room!

To the right, are pics of possibly the worst kitchen ever!! Sorry Nne... (my client)!
It's a small galley kitchen in a 70's condo and it needed an update... so... ya know... I gave it one.
Never say never... this client was told by a another contractor that she couldn't have a pass through, "HAH" I say. She's got one now.

I also, in our initial meeting, discovered that the appliances were in a non-functional arrangement. I moved the fridge to the opposite wall and the dishwasher was moved to the other side of the sink to make room for it. This change gave the stove tons of counter space on both sides whereas before... it had about 8 inches on either side.

I ripped out the wall towards the living room to open it up. Completely gutted the old cabinets and appliances. Tiled the floor in a warm gray Italian porcelain tile (got a really good deal on it).
I moved the fridge to the sink side to make more counter space on either side on the stove and then...

... absolute black granite countertops, new stainless steel appliances, new cabinets and... it needed a finishing touch, so I added a built in wine rack to the pass through opening and it's done.

Paint it a teal green and we're good to go.
The living room and dining room are a warm dark chocolate so the colors really compliment each other.

strangely enough, Ikea does not make a dishwasher surround cabinet. You're supposed to put it between two other cabinets, so... I made this one and stained it to match the Ikea and you can't even tell.

Below is one of my favorite transformations...

I changed the home from a two person home into a single woman's heaven.
I made the space completely about her. She loves it!
We painted her bedroom a beautiful red, put the bed on an angle, added a sitting area and
put up a fantastic canopy.

All the furniture in both rooms is hers, we bought nothing.

This is a great example of how painting and re-decorating can make a huge difference.

This is the NEW bedroom.
I don't have a before, but trust me... it wasn't anything like this!!

This is her guest room... (used to be her Ex's office) and what a transformation.

A little paint, some re-arranging and instead of using the brass bed frame for the bed, I hung it on the wall to add a little whimsy and also keep the room open.

Hand bent wiggle curtain rods. Straight rods are too boring.
Grommets at the top and raffia ties make for a casual and interesting treatment.

This is Charlie's room.

He and his parents were expecting a new addition to the family... Oscar. He was due any moment and they needed more room.

So, me being me, I consolidated some furniture, gave Charlie his own castle/bed and made so much floor room his parents couldn't believe it. Charlie is very happy.

He says he's got the biggest bedside table in the world. He's probably right.

Here's one of the dressers before. There were two of them taking up too much wall space.
The changing table is now on one wall and a dry erase board and play area is on the other.

This is a seriously ultra modern "outside the box" kitchen.
Two foot by two foot granite tile floor installed on an angle, yellow granite counter, beautiful stainless appliances and dramatic paint colors. The back splash is suede paint, clear coated to resist grease spatter. It's the same paint as the ceiling, a custom mix by me, charcoal suede. This client hated his ceilings throughout his house. It's an old house and they were in really bad shape... choices??? rip them out and put in new dry wall or...
change the lighting to down lights and suede it!!
All the cracks and uneven bits are visually gone. Great solution and a lot less messy. We did this in his bedroom in a chocolate brown too. (see pic below)

We didn't buy any new light fixtures... I just re-arranged what he already had in the house.
You don't always have to buy new stuff, just look around and see what you've got!

This is his adjacent dining room. The base color was a dead yellow. I mixed a copper glaze to bring in the drape color (see drape page) and warmed up the whole room. The ceiling is a bronze finish, brushed on to hide the ceiling again. The trim color is the same as the kitchen. You don't always have to change the color, just look at it and see what's missing. In this case it was warmth and a glaze coat fixed it.

And now his bedroom....

I did the walls in the red faux finish, the ceiling in the brown suede, the trim in a chocolate brown semi gloss and padded and upholstered the closet doors. This is a great remedy for awful closet doors. They were the sliding kind, so you can only see half your closet at a time. I took them off and cut them down, put them on hinges and then upholstered them!

This is the ceiling in the room,
again the suede paint hides
all the flaws and I switched his
light fixture to point down.
